The Royal Regiment of Scotland
The history of Operation Infatuate was
important to the success of the Allied Cam
paign in Northern Europe but remains par
ticularly important to the 52nd Lowland, 6th
Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland
(6 SCOTS).
The 52nd Lowland Division no longer ex
ists as a formation of the British Army, but
its' successor organisations survive to the
modern day. In 2006, 52nd Lowland, 6th
Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland
(6 SCOTS) was formed; one of the two
Army Reserve battalions of the Regiment.
The Battalion is headquartered at Walcher
en Barracks in western Glasgow, com
memorating Operation Infatuate as a very
important part of the Battalion's heritage.

gaven de Duitse troepen in Veere, aan de
noordoostkant van het eiland, zich over
aan de 158th Infantry Brigade van de 52nd
Lowland Division. De volgende dag bra
ken de commando's met luchtsteun van
RAF-Typhoons het laatste beetje verzet
langs de noordkust, en zo kwam er een
einde aan operatie Infatuate.

Operatie Infatuate was bijzonder belangrijk
voor het succes van de geallieerden in
Noord-Europa, en is dat nog steeds voor
de 52nd Lowland 6th Battalion, The Royal
Regiment of Scotland (6 SCOTS).
De 52nd Lowland Division is niet langer
